I enjoyed One of the more clever television creations of the new millennium, Monk combines the high-grade suspense of a traditional TV drama with the quirky humor of a big screen comedy. Originally developed for ABC, theshow became an instant prime-time lynchpin for the USA network, proving itself one of the more successful shows on cable TV...
In Monk, Tony Shalhoub stars in the title role of Adrian Monk, a former San Francisco detective placed on psychiatric leave. A true legend in the community, Monk solves unsolvable crimes via his towering intellect, photographic memory, and meticulous observations. But the one case that alludes Monk is the 1997 murder of his wife Trudy, which forever altered Monk's capacity to perform his job. Suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and a number of odd phobias, Monk requires a personal assistant, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), for even his most basic daily activities. Yet Monk remains a police consultant on difficult cases, and he hopes to persuade Capt. Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to give him his old job back. But Stottlemeyer and colleague Lt. Randall Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford), harbor doubts about Monk's mental faculties. As Monk solves cases though, those doubts dissipate and Stottlemeyer and Disher learn to appreciate Monk's special talents - despite his inability to cope with the day-to-day activities of a normal detective... Nevertheless, he remains a de facto investigator as he and Sharona aid the San Francisco police department in solving numerous high profile cases...
The Monk (Season 3) DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere "Mr. Monk Takes Manhattan" in which Monk and company take a trip to New York City to investigate a lead on Trudy's murder given to Monk in the previous year's season finale. But while settling into their hotel, a riot breaks out in the lobby, and three people are killed, including the Latvian ambassador (who was just standing next to Monk). With Monk's identification of the killer's left ear being the only eye witness description of the perpetrator, the NYPD must rely on Monk's unique skills in order to solve the crime... Other notable episodes from Season 3 include "Mr. Monk Meets the Godfather" in which Monk is pressured by a local mafia boss to help solve the murder of five of his henchmen, and "Mr. Monk Gets Cabin Fever" in which Monk witnesses a Chinese gangland murder, prompting the FBI to place him in the witness protection program - harboring him in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere...

If you have seen at least one episode of any season of Two and a Half Men and you liked it,buy them all.I have all six seasons and watch them usally on Saturdays and Sundays when there is nothing worth watching on.In my opinion,Two and a Half Men is the best sitcom on television ever. It's funny, witty, a bit sexist sometimes because it's primarily from 2 middle-aged mens' point of views. I love Charlie's charismatic yet nonchalant approach to life and how much he gets off picking on his younger, less-experienced-in-sex brother. His brother is cool too. They're both laidback, yet his bro is by far the smarter of the two. He's divorced and overly-content with his standings. However, his wife not allowing him to move on bothers him.
The 3rd Disc of this season is perfect. Charlie tries to take Alan to Vegas to ease his brother's fears of a colonoscopy but Alan's semi - OCD gets in the way. Judith feels the need to go on vacation from her stressful life of cashing alimony checks and leaves Jake with the brothers for a full week. Charlie and Alan each mess things up in extremely hilarious ways - based on the facial expressions alone, this might be Angus T. Jones best episode as Jake. Charlie convinces Alan to pretend to be his gay partner to impress an Ad exec - and the ensuing relationship is brilliant, especially when their mom finds out. Jake loses his portable game system in the coffin of one of his grandmother's ex husbands.
I still enjoy watching new Two and a Half Men on Mondays, but nothing beats this season. The story lines aren't repetitive yet. The dialogue is still fresh. And for me, the most important thing is the characters aren't dumb downed yet. Charlie is of course still a highly functional drunk, but he's not an idiot. His one liners are still littered with interesting tidbits and cultural references. He's not the low brow idiot the writers are quickly turning him into in later seasons. Alan's awkwardness is still fresh and hilarious. And as Jake, Angus Jones is the perfect age. Like the Charlie of later seasons, the writers have decided to really dumb down Jake. As an 11 year old in season 2, Jake is just a semi-naive kid with a lot of apathy and a few cups of bad influence.

Having a toddler, we didn't have the chance to see this film in a theater so we were very pleased to receive a complementary copy from Disney, and have watched the film many times in the past week. The movie a real Disney classic in the sense that it appeals to children and adults. The introduction tells the story of a selfish prince who, being uncharitable and unkind to an old woman, is turned into a beast while his castle and servants are enchanted. They can only be returned to their natural state if the prince falls in love, and is loved in return, before the last petal drops off an enchanted rose. The animation and Menken-Ashman songs are some of Disney's best. The film deserved its Oscar nomination, and you can see why it became a successful Broadway musical.
You could spend days looking through all the dvd material. If you've seen the special editions of Snow White or Monsters, Inc. you'll know what to expect. There are two discs: the first contains three versions of the film -- the original theatrical release, the IMAX theater edition with the new song 'Human Again', and a fascinating "work-in-progress" version that alternates between pencilled, cartooned and fully animated representations. Disc Two contains many dvd extras. There are games, trivia quizzes, featurettes about the making of the film as well as the musical on Broadway, two music videos, and excellent features showing the behind-the-scenes doings of cast, voice work and art. Our favorite extras were Mrs. Potts' Personality Profile Game, where you answer several questions and are told which character you most resemble, and "The Story Behind the Story" where celebrities recount the origins of many Disney tales, including The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jungle Book, Mulan, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty & the Beast. I really enjoy seeing the layouts and designs, and how the animations are drawn and developed. The trivia games are lots of fun, and IMHO they work better than the games requiring navigation with the remote.Walt Disney DVD 121 Discs

I've been a fan of Doctor Who since I was a kid and discovered Tom Baker's version with the long scarf on Saturday afternoons on PBS. I was crazy about the show all through high school and into college, but lost touch with it when it disappeared off the local PBS channel sometime in Colin Baker's run. The 1996 attempt to revive it was a huge disappointment, so my anticipation of the new series was hesitant.
Doctor Who makes more sense when viewed episode to episode (from the very first to the most recent) so that you get to know the Doctor, his companions, and the inside scoop on what to the untrained ear sounds like sci-fi-techno-babble but is in actual fact just the show building on it's own lore, lore which spans the cosmos and all of time. Having said that, today's Doctor Who does an admirable job of bringing new viewers up to speed without inducing a group coma amongst long time loyal fans. Apart from the occasional cliff-hanging, cold-sweat, white-knuckled, tear-jerking, weak-in-the-knees, laugh-out-loud, and hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck-is-standing-at-attention two part season finale, each episode is a standalone adventure. Say that about your favorite sit-com or soap.
The Doctor (a Timelord) has two hearts and possesses the ability to regenerate. Regenerating is sort of like morphing, but not exactly. He doesn't become someone or something else, he does however get a new lease on life each time he undergoes the process of regeneration. Throughout as well as after his regeneration or rebirth he retains his memory though it is somewhat muddied at times. His outward appearance changes, as does his demeanor and his voice, etc. A very handy tool, one that permits creators and producers of the Doctor's adventures to keep things fresh by replacing an outgoing or current Doctor (or rather the actor that portrays him) with a new one.Walt Disney DVD 121 Discs
